Writing

Jax writes with and for young people, and is a graduate of the MPhil (B) in Playwriting from the University of Birmingham.

Credits include:

  • “Butterfly Wings” and “Cat Fight” – extracts performed as part of Bite Sized 1 and 2, a new writing shorts event produced by Theatre 503 and Mixed Company Productions
  • “Bitter/Sweet” – rehearsed reading of an extract, directed by Alison Sutcliffe (Allardyce Nicoll Studio, University of Birmingham)
  • “Thief of Time” – written with students and performed at Ise Community College, Kettering, Northamptonshire
  • “Tell It Like It Is” – winner of the Northamptonshire County Council Drugs Awareness Competition (The Castle Theatre, Wellingborough)
  • “The Visit” – based on the book by Adrian Plass and performed as part of the Directing Festival (New Theatre, Bretton Hall)
  • “In the Absence of Men” – devised, written and performed with university students, West Yorkshire Tour (Lawrence Batley Theatre – Huddersfield, The Priestly Theatre – Bradford, Experimental Studio – Bretton Hall)
  • “Not Here Sir” – Theatre in Education with accompanying workshops in schools’ tour, working with West Yorkshire Police and teaching staff.
