Activity of the Week:
~ Ditch Comparison! Notice when you do it! Make a mental note, better still a physical note, of when & how you compare yourself to others. Then ask: are you being REALLY fair to yourself? What could the other person have had to battle/go through to be able to do/be the thing you’re comparing? Do you want to do something about it? If yes, great, what’s one little thing you can do for yourself? If no, why are you comparing yourself!? Become aware of it and either positively take steps to change YOU or ditch the comparison.
Thought Of The Week:
It’s easy to think that other people have it together way better than you, & 100% of the time it’s not true! Seriously – there’s ALWAYS something each of us would like to change/improve/do/be/etc.
If you notice you’ve fallen into the Comparison Trap (see the activity of the week!) then you can turn it around. Let comparison hold up a candle to things you really want to change about yourself & find ways to do it – make it a learning game.
EG: I’m no good at exercising like so-and-so, but I can walk every day, even for just 15minutes … I could even do that walk for ten paces & run for ten paces thing!
Or can you collaborate with the person you’re comparing yourself to? Ask them how they manage it?
Spoiler Alert: they will more than likely think YOU’RE better at something or confess that they haven’t really got it all together!
Work on being aware of when comparison pokes its nasty head around the door & choose whether to wallow in it or recognise it for what it is & do something about it.
